I. Cement and Global Warming Issues. 

 

1.1. Cement is High CO2 Generating Material

Currently, the production of one ton of Portland cement produces more than 0.9 tons of CO2, which accounts for 5 to 8% of the total volume of man-made CO2. However, there is no clear solution for CO2 reduction in the cement industry. Thus, in order to significantly reduce CO2, it is urgent to reduce the consumption of Portland cement by developing a new cementing binder that does not generate CO2.
